Faith

Faith is what drives science, faith in your hypothesis and not other. Faith to put it to the scientific method with the belief it's not going to drawn.

Biological phenomena have 2 approaches to it. A super computer handling millions of variables  per millisecond or a leap of faith. This is the bridge of science and the divine.

We can check how the weather is going to be in advance or just ask our elders if it's going to rain.  For the climate computers can produce more or less accurate predictions. But biological processes seem to be more complex than climate, therefore it's difficult to predict where a paramecium will turn next. Yet we can predict the movement of planets containing such organisms, even galaxies.

How close we can predict the turns of paramecia? maybe with the same precision we can predict climate, maybe not. This is why I think evidence based medicine is just the closer to the truth we can get but never reaching it. The question is if it's enough. Most of the time maybe

But not sure if it will hold true on the future.

1922- Todo oscuro sin estrellas

The whole purpose of being alive is to leave a better world of what we found. The “conniving man” is greedy, and doesn’t stop at anything: lying, murder. There’s a conniving man inside every human, and a choice to master it. No matter what we must accepts our mistakes, never try to cover one with another.

What Thomasin could have done? Reality circling around her like a rope to the damned, carry on against all hope If only David would have waited before firing. Nothing justifies conversion: love, hunger, loneliness, sickness, pain. Yet many take the money, or eternal life, to “live deliciously” bringing horror and grief on this earth. Old sorrows will be forgotten, like a dream barely remembered, replaced by full darkness

Once the night starts it never ends

"Oceans of Love Lucy"

The City of Lights sparkled in the night. Poets have written that when those lights shine, “Paris is a city for lovers.” But Bathory had lived long enough to know that the sparkle was just an illusion, like love itself.

Looking out now upon this so-called City for Lovers, from the driverless black carriage that raced away from the Théâtre de l’Odéon, Bathory swore she would one day burn Paris to the ground and stamp her boots upon its ashes.

The Undead. Dacre Stoker, 2009

You have no anchor to this place or this time, maybe some unbeknown age. You are stuck following the ways you utterly despise.  Yet you haven’t forgotten why you have crossed the oceans of time. When you see around there’s nothing, just the ashes of meaningless life you dreamt eons ago

The same you. Dawn will never come.

See behind the ghastly endless darkness, stealthily bordering your time. It’s a frightening place you can’t see and nobody wants to go, but you

Those static glimmering city lights are inconsequential specks compared with what the dead saw and what the unborn will see. It’s not day or night, but tiny stars in an ocean of darkness.

This is not the end, just another beginning.

On Carpe Diem

Never been able to put up with “YOLO” philosophy (if we can call it that way). It’s selfish in nature, caring only for your own pleasure. Yes, they are right when they say you only live once, but why make it all about yourself?  Why to make it on how much pleasure you can give yourself. I’m not saying giving you unfathomable pain is the way to go. Why not rise above oneself? Why not caring about others? Existentialism and atheism go hand in hand. Since there is no heaven and hell, then how cares what you do on this life? Nobody is watching you, then you are free to do things otherwise you would not do. Existentialism puts aside moral barriers to achieve self-pleasure. Not different from those little mice pulling a lever.

Why caring about other is better? Well, as humans our brain has some other capabilities other than receiving pleasure, we can imagine, we can design, we can change our world for good or bad. It is a little more complex, and not as pleasurable, to change the world. Yes you give pleasure yourself at the end by contemplating something you didn’t think was possible. But now your existence is good for you and for others.

Guys partying till they hurt themselves or hurt others, what for? Even worse committing crimes in order to give themselves scattered moments of pleasureThe anticipation is worth more than the reward. | by Oscar de la Hera | delasign | Medium572 × 431e.
